**TL;DR:** CISA's alert of October 27, 2026 adds an Adobe Commerce and Magento upload flaw, CVE-2026-48356, to its exploited catalogue. It is critical, and the fix comes from Adobe's own bulletin.

## What happened

In a [CISA alert](https://www.cisa.gov/news-events/alerts/2026/10/27/cisa-adds-two-known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog), the agency named two newly exploited flaws. One is CVE-2026-48356 in Adobe Commerce and Magento, an unrestricted upload of a dangerous file type. The other is the Brotli flaw CVE-2026-111497, which we explained in [our Brotli post](https://stackurity.ai/blog/brotli-cve-2026-111497-exploited-decoder-flaw/).

The National Vulnerability Database gives the Adobe flaw a CVSS v3.1 score of 9.3 (critical), weakness CWE-434\. It says a successful attack could run code as the current user, and that a victim has to open a crafted link or page. CISA's due date for fixing it is November 10, 2026.

Fixed versions are not in the data we hold, so take them from the Adobe security bulletin referenced in the CISA catalogue entry.

## Am I affected?

If you run Adobe Commerce or Magento in any form, assume yes until you have compared your release with Adobe's bulletin. Check the installed version from the project directory:

```
bin/magento --version
composer show 'magento/*' | head
```

Also look at storefront media and upload folders for files that should not be there.

## How to check with Stackurity

Stackurity reads the Composer lockfiles of deployed applications and repositories, and installed packages on Linux servers, then matches them against advisories every hour and the CISA catalogue every day. A finding comes with the version to move to, and a fresh report after the upgrade records whether it is fixed. Libraries copied into an application outside a package manager are not covered.
