**TL;DR:** Ubuntu USN-7530-2 ships the ADOdb fix from USN-7530-1 to older Ubuntu long-term-support releases. The flaw lets a remote attacker run SQL commands, so update the package.

## What happened

Ubuntu Security Notices [published USN-7530-2](https://ubuntu.com/security/notices/USN-7530-2) on November 4, 2026\. It extends the earlier notice USN-7530-1 to the five long-term-support releases from 16.04 up to 24.04\. ADOdb is a PHP database library, and the notice says it handled SQL input incorrectly, so a remote attacker could run arbitrary SQL commands.

The notice carries no CVE number in the feed we read. See the Ubuntu page for the package versions that fix it on each release.

## Am I affected?

You are affected if a server on one of those Ubuntu LTS releases has the ADOdb package installed and the update is not applied. To check one machine, run `apt list --installed 2>/dev/null | grep -i adodb` and compare the version with the one in the notice. A PHP application that bundles its own copy of ADOdb is not updated by the Ubuntu package.

## How to check with Stackurity

Stackurity reads installed packages on Ubuntu servers and matches them against vendor advisories every hour, with distribution backports taken into account. A copy of a library bundled inside an application outside a package manager is not covered, so look for those by hand. After you update, check again asks the agent for a fresh report and records whether the issue is gone. See [how Stackurity handles fixes](https://stackurity.ai/docs/remediation).
